This is for the birds – the Great Backyard Bird Count will be here before you know it! Join the world in identifying and counting the birds that you see in your own backyard between February 13-16, 2026. Wrap up your observations on February 16 from 11:30-12:30 with Tecumseh Land Trust volunteer Bethany Gray, an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist, for a lunchtime birding walk at the Glass Farm Conservation Area in Yellow Springs. We will share our birding data with the annual Great Backyard Bird Count hosted by the Audubon Society and Cornell Lab of Ornithology (www.birdcount.org). Meet at the parking area off King Street next to the bike rack. Bring your binoculars, but if you don’t have a pair we have some that can be borrowed during the event. Dress for the weather, however, this event will be cancelled in the event of a snow emergency or extreme rain or cold.
Tecumseh Land Trust is a non-profit conservation organization that protects working lands, native habitats, and water resources throughout Clark, Greene and surrounding counties. In partnership with local families we hold land protection agreements on over 38,000 acres of land, and 62 stream miles. Visit tecumsehlandtrust.org for more information.
